It involves the examination of the seals and closures to prevent any leaks that could compromise the quality of the coffee.  

Coffee Package Testing with Vacuum Decay Solution 

Vacuum decay technology serves as a non-destructive method for assessing the integrity of coffee packaging, functioning as a Container Closure Integrity Test (CCIT) with demonstrated reliability and sensitivity on the production line. This method enables the examination of packaging without causing damage, providing a deeper insight into package quality and minimizing waste in comparison to destructive testing approaches. The reduction in waste not only aligns with green initiatives but also enhances the return on investment for operations.  Types of packaging include both flexible and rigid packaging formats including pouches, sachets, bags and rigid containers.   

The process involves placing sample packages in a precisely fitted evacuation test chamber equipped with an external vacuum source. Utilizing single or dual vacuum transducer technology, the test chamber is monitored for both vacuum levels and changes in vacuum over a predefined test duration. Variations in absolute and differential vacuum levels serve as indicators of leaks and defects within the package.
